There's a 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged in Vesuvius Orange (aka Launch Colour) and OEM Stormer 20-inch wheels for sale in my city (Vancouver, BC). It's got 140,000 KMS on the dial (like 85,000 miles), reportedly no accident history, looks relatively clean, and it's a U.S. import. AND it's got 390 bhp that makes one hell of a noise and drinks one hell of a lot of petrol.
High mileage early RRSports are now beginning to trickle below $25k, so this price isn't a surprise. The mileage is a bit high, but I'd be driving it with my fingers crossed at all times while simultaneously touching wood. Because Land Rover reliability.
But still, it's an awesome early RRSport example, just the way it was toured around auto shows in 2005, and just the way, when I was 15 years old, would of specced mine had I been given the cash.
I kind of know what I'm getting in to since this past summer I completed a 3,000 kilometre European road trip over 6 days in a Range Rover Sport diesel and I definitely like it. It fits me, it works well as a long distance traveller, it's comfortable, it has presence, it's practical, it's handsome,...
But I digress, OPPO, NP or CP?

I have a similar affinity for these slab-sided beasts. NP, if you have enough budget set aside for maintenance. Wouldn't want to end up hating your dream ride! Always loved burnt orange, too.

That's exactly what my buddy just did. He looks all classy at a very low cost of entry. Most people can't tell the difference between the old generation and the new one. So why not save money up front and pay as you go for the repairs? You still save money overall and have lower registration and insurance costs.

Smart dude! It also seems like I've seen more RRs on the road than ever in the past year or so, probably due to the expanding model line, so perhaps waiting just another year or two will pay off as more and more people trade up.

Are the Stormer wheels from a later model?

At the time you could order the Supercharged either in base trim or as "Limited." The Limited came with (if I remember correctly) screens in the headrests, perforated seats, Brembo front brakes, a few other items, AND stormer wheels as standard as opposed to the 20 inch V-spokes. Since this one ticks all the "Limited" boxes, I think they may be stock. Either way, tomorrow I'm heading over to take a look at it and find out what's what.

The supercharged RR Sports are insanely fun to drive. They pull like motherfuckers considering how huge they are. Go for it IF you have a shit ton of money for maintenance. My ex gf's mom used to have one and it seemed to be in the shop for repairs way too often.

Well you could always get it checked out by a Land Eover mechanic before you make the decision and see what they have to say about it.
I don't want to talk you out of it, though! I just think you definitely have to keep maintenance cost in mind, especially when buying one used.
Have you considered going the Carmax route like Demuro? Probably the safest bet with one of these.

I've looked in to warranties before in my neck of the woods (British Columbia, Canada), and it's fairly bleak. Closed Carmax is in Sacramento, which isn't exactly nearby. And then there's duty, double tax, import fees, etc.

Great advice. I think getting it checked over by a LR mechanic is the only way to go. The fact that it's a U.S. important = history black hole, which is scary. Warranties are tough to come by here in Canada. And the closest Carmax is in Sacramento, so quite far away, and out of country.

He got the supercharged one too! Black on black. Very classy looking.
I wonder how much the indie warranty programs go for once there are too many miles to buy an extended warranty from the automaker. Even if a third party plan is expensive it could be worth it. It cools cover a big ticket item like the transmission dying.

NP had 2008 then a 2010 RRSSC both purchased new..loved them both (08 was quick 10 was a beast) just make sure you have someone in mind you trust for service and maintenance other than the dealer. the 08 had free maintenance they quietly changed this for the 10 and the service cost are shocking! $900 for what equated to an oil change and tire rotation for the first recommended service!
Promptly traded for an F10 M5

I haven't heard many good things about Kingsway dealerships... definitely get a full inspection done and pull up both a BC Claims Carproof and Carfax (if it's an ex-US vehicle).
The post mentions a warranty is available- you may want to look into it. I have a warranty on my Audi through SAL. Haven't had to make any claims yet, but I've heard good things about the company (I know Weissach offers their warranty on their vehicles).
The color is really nice! I'll have to keep an eye out for your RRS around town ;)

They're great fun until the airbag suspension blows out on the highway! Don't ask me how I know. :-P
Seriously, great cars though. Very underrated.

Well my then girlfriend at the time had one. It was her mother's old car, which was replaced by a brand new range rover. It was her parents 25th anniversary and I was invited to come along. Girlfriend threw me the keys, she knew I loved the damn thing more than she did. Well I merged onto the highway and after about a 2-300 yards from the next exit I hear a muffled thump and the car dropped much lower than it's lowest suspension height. Managed to get off the highway and back to her house to get the spare car. You could feel EVERY imperfection in the road like it was being branded into your backside. The smallest of bumps felt like it would tip the car over.
The dealership collected the car the next week and it was determined that the suspension system was improperly assembled at the factory and was replaced for free.
Got to drive the other car to dinner and still made it with time to spare. Because that car also had a supercharged v8 :D
